Design and build

This new Galaxy A-Series line has a signature Samsung design, build, look and feel. You can straight away tell A21 is a Galaxy phone by one look at it. This is because of that in-display front-facing camera on the front and the general Samsung-ish vibe this phone brings along. Of course, the front is of glass.

But the rest of the build is as plastic as you would expect. Not a bad thing though. We have seen Samsung do this on even more expensive phones. On the back panel of Samsung Galaxy A21 is a fingerprint scanner. Yes at this price point you do not get the in-display fingerprint reader even though the screen is AMOLED. The back has been kept clean with only that, the camera module and that Samsung branding towards the bottom.

Display

It was all great news when Samsung shut down all its IPS LCD display operations. Henceforth all displays on Samsung phones will be AMOLED or otherwise, just not IPS. And we think this was a great move given the reputation AMOLED panels have gathered over the years. That being said, Samsung Galaxy A21’s massive 6.5 inch Super AMOLED display is one large viewing estate to behold. But its resolution is only 720 x 1600 pixels with ~270 PPI density. This display still looks great. If you guessed because it is Super AMOLED you guessed right. Consider also that it has an in-display selfie camera which gives it that expensive look you might be aiming for.

Cameras

The quad-camera of Galaxy A21 is good enough. It has a 16 MP main camera lens that shoots those wide images. It is the 8MP camera that does all the ultra-wide operations. The two other lenses are a macro lens and depth-sensing lens. They both have a resolution of 2MP. Video recording here is 1080p@30fps even as on the impressive 13MP selfie camera. Some general camera features present on Samsung Galaxy A21 include panorama, HDR and AF. You sure will find a bunch of other features therein.

Platform

This phone, Samsung Galaxy A21 is powered by Android 10.0 and luckily One UI 2.0. We say luckily because sometimes Samsung drops unexpected bombshells. The phone also comes with 32GB of internal storage and 3GB of RAM. For the price, and for a Samsung phone, this is more than what one would regularly expect. As for major OS updates, we cannot comment, and neither does Samsung. But patches and security updates those you will receive regularly. By the way, the internal storage of Galaxy A51 is of the eMMC 5.1 infrastructure.

Battery

There is support for fast charging 15W on Samsung Galaxy A21. The phone itself comes with a long-lasting 4,000 mAh battery capacity.
